Essential Responsibilities: Provide financial analysis support for GE’s Corporate Health Care component, a corporate team with responsibility for management and administration of GE’s $2 billion spend on US health care benefits. Key responsibilities include:
  • Financial leader on a team which sources US health benefits from national and regional health plans.
  • Partner with Health Benefits program management to conduct detailed evaluation, sourcing, and implementation of new benefit models (such as centers of excellence).
  • Partner with Health Benefits program management on plan design for GE’s US health benefits, including:
                o Conduct detailed evaluation of alternative designs and pricing strategies.
                o Develop presentations to communicate key benefit plan design financials to senior management.
                o Work with operations, accounting, and communications teams to implement design changes.

  • Utilize systems and tools to query and health care cost data and model “what-if” scenarios.
  • Interface with Wall Street analysts to monitor industry trends.
  • Work with operations team to design new web-based tools to assist employees with health care cost management.
  • Support the Health Benefits union negotiations process.
  • Support the strategic planning and budgeting process (OP/Blueprint/Session II).
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • BS/BA in finance, mathematics, statistics or business related discipline
  • Work experience in health care industry
  • Familiarity with vendor sourcing and contracting
  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills
  • Hands-on experience with database queries, reporting, and analysis
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interface well at all organization levels

Desired Characteristics:
  • Health care actuary – FSA/ASA
  • Health care underwriting experience
  • Understanding of health care provider contracting and reimbursement methodologies
