Essential Responsibilities: Provide financial analysis support for GE’s Corporate Health Care component, a corporate team with responsibility for management and administration of GE’s $2 billion spend on US health care benefits. Key responsibilities include:
- Financial leader on a team which sources US health benefits from national and regional health plans.
- Partner with Health Benefits program management to conduct detailed evaluation, sourcing, and implementation of new benefit models (such as centers of excellence).
- Partner with Health Benefits program management on plan design for GE’s US health benefits, including:
o Develop presentations to communicate key benefit plan design financials to senior management.
o Work with operations, accounting, and communications teams to implement design changes.
- Utilize systems and tools to query and health care cost data and model “what-if” scenarios.
- Interface with Wall Street analysts to monitor industry trends.
- Work with operations team to design new web-based tools to assist employees with health care cost management.
- Support the Health Benefits union negotiations process.
- Support the strategic planning and budgeting process (OP/Blueprint/Session II).
- BS/BA in finance, mathematics, statistics or business related discipline
- Work experience in health care industry
- Familiarity with vendor sourcing and contracting
- Strong quantitative/analytical skills
- Hands-on experience with database queries, reporting, and analysis
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interface well at all organization levels
Desired Characteristics:
- Health care actuary – FSA/ASA
- Health care underwriting experience
- Understanding of health care provider contracting and reimbursement methodologies
