DOL Re-Opens Comment Period for Target Date Fund Guidance

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) re-opened the comment period on its proposed target date fund disclosure rule. The DOL indicates that it is re-opening the comment period in order to get feedback on whether it should include a “glide path illustration for target date funds that is based on a standardized measure of fund risk as a replacement for, or supplement to, an asset allocation glide path illustration.” The DOL notes that the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) Investor Advisory Committee recommended this approach to the SEC.
