Congressional Hearing Focuses on Challenges of Exchanges Rollout

The House Ways and Means Committee held a hearing yesterday on the “Status of the Affordable Care Act Implementation”. Marilyn Tavenner, Administrator, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, testified before the Committee.

The hearing was well-attended by members of Congress, their staff, the press, and the regulated community. Tavenner began her opening remarks by apologizing for the Healthcare.gov website. The overall take-away from the hearing was that the Administration recognizes that there are problems with Healthcare.gov, is taking steps to fix them, and expects to have them resolved by the end of November.
