"Our highly regarded fall meetings will include a full range of timely retirement and health benefit topics. On October 16 we will start with a joint “Ask the Government” Session, followed by concurrent Health Policy and Retirement Security Committee Meetings featuring a deep dive into the latest hot topics in Washington. We will follow with a full-day conference on October 17, featuring Phyllis Borzi, Assistant Secretary for the Employee Benefits Security Administration, as the keynote luncheon speaker. Topics will include discussions of the legal and regulatory challenges to employee benefit practices as a result of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on the Defense of Marriage Act. We also will delve into the prospects of health care reform sinking or swimming in 2014, as the Affordable Care Act enters a key implementation period. And of course, our meetings would not be complete without a Congressional panel of Republican and Democratic staffers from the House and Senate."
